Will maintain friendship with AP: CM Revanth Reddy

Tirupati: Telangana Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy, after praying at the sacred hill temple of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala on Wednesday, expressed his keenness to establish friendly ties with the new government to be formed in Andhra Pradesh after the May 13 elections, in order to address pending inter-state issues.

"We will resolve any issues together and move forward in cooperation for the development of both states," he said, expressing a desire for collaboration between the two states.

"After the Lok Sabha election process is completed, I will meet the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh to request him to involve Telangana in providing facilities for devotees at Tirumala," the Telangana CM told reporters.

Revanth Reddy said that he had prayed for continued good relations between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

He said the Telangana government planned to construct a 'satram' and a 'kalyana mandapam' in the hill town to provide better amenities for devotees from the state. He also said the Telangana government wanted to participate in making arrangements for the devotees visiting Tirumala from Telangana and other parts of the country.

He said he had sought divine blessings for the development and prosperity of the Telugu people as well as cordial relations between the two Telugu states.

Revanth Reddy refused to answer questions on politics, stating that Tirumala was not the place for such discussions. The Chief Minister voiced happiness over the forecast of a good monsoon this year, expressing hope that it would lead to a bountiful crop and help overcome drought challenges faced last year.

Accompanied by his wife Geetha, daughter Nymisha Reddy, grandson, and other family members, Revanth Reddy had darshan at the hill shrine in what was his first visit to Tirumala after assuming office in December last year.

The Revanth Reddy family performed the tonsure ceremony of his grandson before proceeding to the hill temple, where they were ceremonially received by TTD executive officer A.V. Dharma Reddy. After the darshan, the priests blessed the family, and the TTD EO presented them with Srivari Prasadams.
