The tigers are roaring! 3D but yet so real
Bengaluru: If you are unlucky not to see animals in all their magnificence at Bannerghatta National Park, you could soon embark on a virtual tour of the Park and other forests in the state. And enjoy 3D images of wildlife, just a shade less exciting than a real-life experience.
This is one of the projects suggested by Karnataka tourism’s Vision Group with preparations underway to invite tenders for setting up a 3D interpretation centre at the Park. Using laser technology, the centre will display the wide variety of animals and birds found in Bannerghatta forest and across the state, on its walls.
Mr V. Ravi Chandar, a prominent member of the Vision Group said, “It’s a virtual experience that will add to the actual sighting of wildlife at the park. The idea is to provide a varied experience to visitors.”
Plans are also afoot to introduce a 3D interpretation centre at the famous Gol Gumbaz at Vijayapura. Mr Ravi Chandar said, “To carry out this project, we will need ASI clearance. Subject to that, we are preparing to call for tenders.” Unlike Bannerghatta, at Gol Gumbaz, the laser display will be on the exterior walls.
Tourism destinations like Chitradurga fort, the Crocodile Park at Dandeli and the Elephant camp at Dubare will get a facelift. Tourism minister R.V. Deshpande said, “The Vision Group has come up several proposals. We have passed them on to tourism consultants and tenders have been issued.”
