Microbiology, Genetics department to hold separate programmes at OU Global Meet

Hyderabad: During the Global Alumni Meet at Osmania University (OU) scheduled on January 3 and 4, apart from the main event at Tagore Auditorium, the Microbiology and Genetics Departments of OU will hold meetings with the alumni from the respective departments on Wednesday, January 4 from 10 am onwards.

At the Microbiology Department, after a welcome address, HOD of the department Dr Sandeepta Burgula will speak about the alumni meet, after which the alumni from the department will interact with the faculty and give their inputs on how to make the department better.

Similarly, at the Genetics Department too, alumni will interact with members of the department from 10 am to 1 pm.

Prof Gita Sharma, who is a founder faculty of the Microbiology Department and currently a student of the Genetics Department, will be a part of both the programmes. She said the events will involve felicitation of illustrious alumni from the departments.

Incidentally, Vice-Chancellor of University of Hyderabad Prof B.J. Rao, who is the chief guest for the main event at Tagore Auditorium, is a former student of Prof Sharma.
