Centenary Celebrations: DTEA Schools Reunite Over 250 Telugu State Alumni
HYDERABAD: About 250 alumni from the Telugu states attended the DTEA Schools, (formerly Madrasi Education Association) centenary celebrations at the MCEME Auditorium in Trimulgherry here on Sunday. Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan in a statement noted that what began as a one teacher-one student institution in the capital had grown into an institution with eight branches and 10,000 students with the alumni winning awards at the national level. She praised the vision of late Rao Bahadur Gopala lyer and the first teacher Sundaresan lyer to serve the Tamil community through the Madarasi Education Association. The seeds for the institution were sown on October 19, 1923, Vijayadasami.
