Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh native Bora Varun Chakravarthi topped the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET) 2023, securing a perfect score of 720, as per the results announced late on Tuesday night.
Chakravarthi shared the top rank with Prabanjan J. of Tamil Nadu.
As many as 20,87,462 students appeared for the exam on May 7, 2023, across the country, except in Manipur, where the exam was held on June 6. Of the total, 56.21 per cent of the medical aspirants qualified.
Of the 72,842 students who took the test from Telangana, 42,654 students qualified, while 42,836 students of 68,578 candidates who applied from Andhra Pradesh qualified.
Six other Telugu candidates figured in the top 50, with Kanchani Geyanth Raghu Ram Reddy of Telangana securing the 15th rank. He was followed by Yellampallo Lakshmi Pravardhan Reddy (25) of AP, Vangipuram Harshil Sai (38) of AP, Kani Yasasri (40) of AP, Kalavakuntla Pranathi Reddy (45) of AP and Jagruthi Bodeddula (49) of Telangana.
Other toppers include Gandhamaneni Giri Varshita (51) of AP, Lakshmi Rashmitha Gandikota (52) and Gilada Prachi (65), both of Telangana.
