Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan calls for startup ecosystems at colleges

Hyderabad: Telangana Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan on Wednesday advised colleges to transform their campuses into innovation and start-up ecosystems, saying innovation and entrepreneurship were vital for the creation of jobs and for economic growth.

The Governor was addressing the 'Y20 India Celebrations' that mark India’s G20 Presidency, at the Khammam Institute of Technology and Science, Khammam. Dr Soundararajan exhorted students to focus on innovation and research.

“India is the third largest start-up ecosystem and it is high time we promote innovation, research and development to help our economy grow in a robust manner,” she said. He pointed out that it was due to innovation that India could develop a Covid-19 vaccine and supply it to around 150 countries.
