AP expects 67 seats in IITs and NITs for students from SC Gurukulas
VIJAYAWADA: Social welfare minister Merugu Nagarjuna said that they were expecting 67 seats from premium institutes like IIT, NIT, NIFT, and central universities for SC Gurukula students from Andhra Pradesh as they fared well in the recently announced JEE Advanced exam results.
In a statement on Monday, he said that they were having high expectations to get seats in the range of 16 in IITs, 39 in NITs, and 12 in central universities for a total of 67 seats in the current academic year by taking into consideration the last year’s cut-off marks in the JEE advanced test and maintained that they were able to train the students who were passed out of the batch of Class X without appearing for final exams during the prevalence of Coronavirus in the state.
The minister said that from the Chinnatekuru training centre in Kurnool 28 students, Eedpugallu Training Centre in Krishna 29, and Adavi Thakkellapadu training centre in Guntur 10 students were expected to get admission to premium institutions.
Reminding how their students fared well by securing 44 seats in both MBBS and Dental courses in the Neet-UG as the results declared recently, the minister sounded confident that their students would fare well in the next year’s exams, too and congratulated the teachers and students for their good performance.
