DSC notification to be released soon, says minister
VIJAYAWADA: Education Minister Botsa Satyanarayana said on Friday that the DSC notification will be released and Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy will take a policy decision on this soon.
Addressing the media here on Friday, the minister said the government will decide on transfer of teachers and employees by formulating a transparent process. "Our policy is that Visakhapatnam will be the administrative capital. If Amaravati is the capital, then why is Chandrababu Naidu living in Hyderabad,” asked the minister.
Satyanarayana expressed grief over the sudden death of three teachers in the last two days. They died in the line of duty; one while teaching students and two while carrying out spot valuation of Class 10 examination papers, he noted.
Jojappa (special assistant) died while doing spot evaluation of Class 10 exam papers in Palnadu district. Akondi Bangaraiah, a teacher in Konaseema district, died in the classroom. Srinivasa Rao, a mathematics teacher, died due to cardiac arrest in Bapatla during spot valuation work.
In view of the intense summer heat in the state, the minister directed the officials to provide adequate infrastructure to withstand the summer heat at the spot valuation centers and other offices of the education department.
On the steel plant issue, Satyanarayana said “Some spoke irresponsibly. Today's bidding made that clear. We are very clearly saying that the steel plant should be centrally owned. We are against privatisation of the steel plant."
He said some people are spreading false propaganda that Ragi Malt supply to the students has been stopped. “We are giving students only groundnut chikkirs because of the exams and half-day schools.”
