Andhra Pradesh to get 8 new Kendriya Vidyalayas; Telangana gets none

VIJAYAWADA: The Department of School Education and Literacy announced the establishment of 87 new Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) across the country in a recent meeting held on September 20. Eight of these KVs are slated to be set up in Andhra Pradesh, marking a significant stride in enhancing educational accessibility in the region. However, neighbouring Telangana state was not allotted any new KVs.

Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs), initially founded to educate the children of government employees, including Defense and Paramilitary personnel, have evolved into institutions striving for excellence in school education. They advocate for educational innovation and collaboration with esteemed bodies like the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). Additionally, KVs are dedicated to instilling a sense of "Indianness" and promoting national integration among students.

The new KVs will be established in the following locations in Andhra Pradesh: -Anakapalle district Valasapalle village in Madanapalle mandal, Chittoor district Palasamudram village in Gorantla mandal, Sri Satya Sai district Tallapalli village in Macherla mandal, Guntur district Nandigama in Krishna district Rompicherla village in Narasaraopet division, Guntur district Nuzvid in Eluru district, Dhone in Nandyal district
