J M Srinivas, the Head of the Department (HOD) of Mechanical Engineering at Government Polytechnic Nizamabad, has been recognised for his exceptional leadership and dedication to education. He has been selected for the best HOD award by the Government of Telangana on the occasion of Telangana formation and 10 years festival for the statehood of Telangana.
Having served as the HOD for the past 11 years, Srinivas has been an invaluable asset to the institution. Additionally, he holds the crucial position of NBA coordinator and undertakes various vital responsibilities. With a post-graduate degree from MIT Manipal, he embarked on his career in the Department of Technical Education in 1987, showcasing his passion for engineering education.
Srinivas has an impressive track record. He served as the Principal of Government Polytechnic Nandipet in Nizamabad district for five years and 8 months, from 2012 to 2018. He played a pivotal role in establishing state-of-the-art laboratories, workshops, skill development centres, and e-classrooms during his tenure. His unwavering commitment also ensured the completion of college and hostel construction projects.
