Osmania University Rubbishes Reports of Closure of Five PG Programs

Hyderabad: Osmania University on Wednesday strongly refuted claims made by a section of the media regarding the closure of five postgraduate programmes. Reports hinted at the imminent discontinuation of courses in Persian, Marathi, Kannada, Arabic and theatre arts. The university asserted that there was no decision to close any of the programs.

Addressing concerns about the admissions process for courses with low application rates, the varsity officials clarified that they follow a stringent admissions protocol. In instances where the number of applicants for a specific program is less than the available seats, it may opt for direct admissions while doing away with entrance exams.
