PARAKH Rastriya Sarvekshan 2024 conducted in Hyderabad

The Parakh Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024, a nationwide educational assessment initiated by NCERT, was conducted on Wednesday at 148 schools, to evaluate learning outcomes among students in Classes 3, 6, and 9. A mix of government, model, CBSE, Kendriya Vidyalaya, and international schools participated.
Meridian High School, Madhapur, served as the district collection centre, coordinating the distribution and retrieval of test materials. DEO R. Rohini, DCEB secretary Jayachandra Garu, and district coordinators Uma Devi and Vishwanath Gupta supervised the process. Materials were dispatched to schools between 5 am and 7 am and the assessments began at 10.30 am.
Each school was assigned a CBSE observer, with field investigators, comprising 215 trained BEd. and DEd. students, who managed individual classes. For Class 3, two investigators were allocated, while higher classes had one per classroom.
The assessments included 90-minute tests for Classes 3 and 6, and 120-minute tests for Class 9, covering language, mathematics, and science, with social science included for Class 9.
Students and teachers completed detailed questionnaires aimed at gathering data on teaching methods, student performance, and school administration.Headmistress Geeta Kalpuri of Borabanda Government High School, which saw 41 Telugu-medium students from Class 9 participate, praised the systematic planning and execution of the survey.
Sangareddy district reported smooth operations, with 149 field investigators and 101 observers facilitating the survey across 2,519 students in Classes 3, 6, and 9. From Medchal 98 schools participated representing around 3,150 students.
