Hyderabad: A pioneering program, "Chemistry on Wheels" (COW), is bridging the gap in chemistry education between urban and rural students. Conceived by Oakridge International School students, led by Class XII student Hrithvik Pullagurla, COW brings hands-on chemistry experience to rural schools lacking infrastructure.
A Noble Partnership
Biophore India Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd, a renowned pharmaceutical company, has joined forces with COW, providing expertise, equipment, and resources. This collaboration ensures sustainable, quality education.
Empowering Rural Students
COW connects urban students with their rural counterparts, imparting practical chemistry knowledge. Targeting Class IX and X students, the initiative fosters interest in chemistry, encouraging them to pursue it as a career.
Key Objectives:
1. Promote chemistry education in rural schools.
2. Develop employment-oriented skills from the grassroots level, aligning with the Government's "Skill India" initiative.
3. Inspire students to take up chemistry as a major area of study.
Impact
Already, COW has benefited over 500 students across 10 ZPHS schools, with Hrithvik and his team members Arya Sriram, Samhitha Dandangi, and Pracheth Gullapalli leading the charge, assisted by Biophore's chemists.
Future Plans
Biophore aims to expand COW's reach to more schools, nurturing young minds and fostering a love for chemistry.
