Actor Mushtaq Khan Kidnapped, Held for 12 Hours in Ransom Plot
Indian actor Mushtaq Khan, known for his role in Stree 2, was kidnapped on November 20, during a ransom plot in Meerut. Khan, 50, was lured under the pretext of an award show and promised payment and flight tickets. Upon arriving in Delhi, he was forced into a car and taken to Bijnor, where he was held captive for nearly 12 hours. His kidnappers demanded ₹1 crore, torturing him and withdrawing over ₹2,400 from his bank accounts.
In the early morning, Khan heard the azaan, realized he was near a mosque, and escaped. With the help of locals and police, he returned home. Khan’s family was deeply shaken, and an FIR has been filed with supporting evidence including flight tickets, CCTV footage, and bank records. Authorities suspect the kidnappers are part of a larger syndicate targeting celebrities.
Khan is recovering from the trauma, and his business partner, Shivam Yadav, hopes for more protection for the industry following this and comedian Sunil Pal’s similar ordeal.
