Akshay Kumar drops his first-look poster as Mahadev from Kannappa

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar has revealed the first look of the highly anticipated Telugu film Kannappa.

Starring Vishnu Manchu in the titular role and produced by his father, the film is slated for a theatrical release on April 25, 2025.

On January 20, Akshay shared the poster on Instagram, writing, "Stepping into the sacred aura of Mahadev for #Kannappa🏹. Honoured to bring this epic tale to life. May Lord Shiva guide us on this divine journey. Om Namah Shivaya!"

Kannappa is already creating buzz, thanks to its star-studded ensemble and intriguing premise. The film, which narrates the story of Bhakta Kannappa, a devoted follower of Lord Shiva, boasts notable cameos.
Prabhas will portray Nandi, while Mohanlal is set to appear in another significant role. Kajal Aggarwal plays Goddess Parvati, and Akshay Kumar will make a special appearance as Lord Shiva.
The movie promises to be a cinematic spectacle, blending devotion and drama. Vishnu Manchu has expressed confidence in the film’s universal appeal, highlighting its strong themes of loyalty and spirituality that deeply connect to Indian culture.
In the past, iconic actors like the late NTR and Chiranjeevi have portrayed Lord Shiva in Telugu classics such as Daksha Yagnam and Sri Manjunatha. With Kannappa, the legacy of celebrating devotion to Lord Shiva continues in a grand and modern retelling.
