Appudo Ippudo Eppudo draws a lukewarm response?
Despite starring popular actor Nikhil Siddhartha, his latest release ‘Appudo Ippudo Eppudo’ received a lukewarm response at the box office on Day One. “It just collected a meager Rs 35 lakhs plus in the two Telugu states, which is a disastrous take-off,” says a distributor, who claims that the film didn’t have decent enough openings. “In some theatres, there 8 to 10 viewers, and few shows were canceled and it was evident that it was given up by the makers as well,” he adds.
Even the makers seem to have realized that it would be a disaster and didn’t even promote the film well. “Nikhil has to safeguard his rising career and shouldn’t do such films which don’t even have a proper story, leave alone the promotions,” he points out. If the film was promoted, the fate of the film wouldn’t be much different, he adds. “The love story didn’t receive a positive response from the audience and they were disappointed with the movie. Hence, there is no chance for positive word-of-mouth publicity and going to help in soaring up collections,’ he points out.
After two hits ‘Swamy Ra Ra’ and ‘Keshav’, Nikhil and director Sudheer Varma were hoping for a hattrick but this film is turning out to be disappointing and forgettable fare.
