AR Rahman Still on Board for RC 16, Rumors of DSP Replacement Debunked

Reports suggesting Telugu composer Devi Sri Prasad (DSP) is replacing A.R. Rahman for Ram Charan's upcoming RC 16 are false, a source confirms. "These rumors are baseless," the source said, clarifying that Rahman has already delivered three soulful tracks and is working on a fourth. The acclaimed composer’s score is expected to be a standout feature of this sports-centric emotional drama directed by Buchi Babu Sana.

Rumors likely arose after Rahman announced a one-year break for new projects, but the source assured that he remains committed to completing RC 16. "He was impressed by the story and is focused on creating memorable chartbusters for the film," the insider added.

Meanwhile, rehearsals with 1,000 junior artists are ongoing under the director's supervision. Ram Charan will join the shoot on January 27 for two months of non-stop filming, performing intense sports sequences involving cricket, football, and other activities to showcase his energy and stamina.

The film also features Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor in a de-glamorized role and Kannada star Shivaraj Kumar in a pivotal part. After playing a British officer in RRR and an IAS officer in Game Changer, Ram Charan will transform into a lungi-clad tribal hero in this underdog-turned-champion saga.
