Ashok Galla delivers yet another disaster?
Young actor Ashok Galla, son of politician and industrialist Jay Galla, has experienced a significant setback with his latest film Devaki Nandana Vasudev. Despite the film's high expectations, it has failed to make a mark in the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana markets. According to distributors, the film has earned only around Rs 40 lakh in its first two days, a far cry from the expected opening. In fact, many theaters canceled screenings due to lack of audience, signaling what some are calling a "major disaster" at the box office.
With an investment of over Rs 11 crore, the film is struggling to recover even a fraction of its budget, leaving little hope for a substantial comeback unless collections rise sharply. Industry insiders suggest that the failure could be attributed to weak content, pointing out that without strong material, audiences are unwilling to invest their time. "Ashok needs to work on his emotive skills," a distributor comments, highlighting that the actor's performance needs to improve for future success.
Despite being the nephew of superstar Mahesh Babu, Ashok's career in Tollywood has yet to gain traction. His previous film Hero also faced similar challenges at the box office, further dimming his prospects in the industry. His next project with Sithara Entertainments will be a critical test for his acting career. If his upcoming film doesn't perform well, Ashok’s future in the industry could face significant challenges, potentially affecting the Galla family's presence in Tollywood.
