Tanushree lost interest in Bollywood, mob attack video out, Nana to hold conference
Tanushree Dutta has spoken up once again, after a decade, about what happened which is the reason she had to quit Bollywood altogether, and like the unimaginable, it involved Nana Patekar!
While on one hand, people are saying she exposes Bollywood, the other lot has also accused her of making such statements only for controversy and to get back in Bollywood.
But in an interview with Hindustan Times, Tanushree cleared the air and said she’s left the path of Bollywood and will never get back there saying, “I am the kind of woman who never keeps quiet. If someone did anything, the very next day, my friends, their friends, and people on the next movie set will know about it. I will never keep quiet… nothing can discourage me now. They are saying Bollywood comeback, Bigg Boss… so what? I am not disparaging those inside the Bigg Boss house, but do people really think for somebody who walked on the Miss Universe stage and went ahead to do 1618 Bollywood films, my aspirations in life would be so limited? Isn’t there anything bigger than Bigg Boss or Bollywood they can think of? Even if so, does that take away from my story or what I have been through?”
“I am through with this Bollywood chapter. I am a US citizen. I was disillusioned, traumatised and walked away despite 30-40 offers. People called and supported me, but there was no public reaction, no condemnation. If I had walked onto another film set after that (the incident on Horn Ok Pleassss), someone would have thought ‘You can get away with everything with this girl. You can even say s**t about her’,” she added.
The video where her car was attacked, has once again come out in the open and has gone viral. Here it is:
The eyewitness from that day, Daisy Shah, who was an assistant choreographer to Ganesh Acharya then and has now become an actress, told Bollywood Hungama, “My job was to give Tanushree the steps, make her learn them and then help her execute. Now what Tanushree has said that I and she had a great rapport. Yes, because we rehearsed for 3-4 days before shooting song and on the sets also for first 2 days everything went very swiftly and on the third day something happened which I am not aware of but Tanushree, being a woman, she has come out and she has said that this is what she has gone through. So I totally sympathize with her.”
She added, “But, I mean, I can’t say anything. Because I don’t even know whether the producer is right or whether the director is right or whether the artist is right but as a woman I totally stand by Tanushree Dutta.”
Daisy questioned, “Why would anybody want to talk about sexual harassment that person has gone through and that too after a decade? There must be a lava inside her that bursted out after ten years and why not! I mean she has gone through it and she should definitely speak up. Because if women like her come out, there are a lot of other women who can actually get that courage from people like Tanushree.”
“And now in midst of this, I don’t know what happened. I don’t know what happened when she was rehearsing for that particular step. Must be something. She must have been touched in a wrong way or whatever it is. So that is something and again, me as an assistant, I was not only there to teach the steps to Tanushree, there was a big setup. We had 60-70 dancers. So the assistant choreographer’s job is also to set up the entire shot. So in the midst of that something might have gone wrong with her, then she went and locked herself in the vanity van for almost 3-4 hours. And then the media was called and then the entire “hoo-haa” happened and Tanushree had a really hard time,” ended Daisy.
The accused, Nana Patekar, in an interaction with Navbharat Times, said that he will hold a press conference to talk about Tanushree’s allegations once he returns to Mumbai. He said that he will face the cameras and talk to the media and answer all the questions. He added that since he has nothing to hide in the matter, he is ready for all questions.
Tanushree taunted Nana’s statement and told SpotBoye, “Journalists must go to Nana's press conference. He is an actor. Kaafi acting hone wali hai, wahan pe (There will be quite a lot of acting at the press conference). Be prepared for an award-winning performance from him.”
