Did 'Manikarnika' writer Vijayendra Prasad egg on Kangana Ranaut?
The controversy over directing Hindi film Manikarnika starring Kangana Ranaut is well known. According to the filmmakers Krish, the director, left the project
midway, leaving Kangana with no choice but to don the director’s hat too. But the truth seems something else.
According to a source, there were no differences between Krish and Kangana and it was writer Vijayendra Prasad who played spoilsport and created the controversy. “Actually, Krish completed the shoot and gave the first copy
to the makers as promised, on time. After seeing the first copy, writer Vijayendra Prasad suggested adding a few more scenes, and Kangana agreed. But Krish, who had committed to the Telugu film, said that those were not necessary and he didn’t want to do it again,” says the source.
But Vijayendra Prasad allegedly told Kangana it’s OK if Krish leaves, she could direct the scenes herself. Which she did, thereby unintentionally snubbing the director.
At the promotion in Hyderabad, Kangana referring to him as Vijayendra ‘sir’ after every sentence literally, indicated that she was depending a lot on him and listening to him at every step of the way. The source said, Sonu Sood refused to give his dates for the “extended shooting” because he felt Kangana and Prasad didn’t respect Krish as the director and went ahead with the additional shots even though as director of the film Krish clearly said it was needless.
The team was in Hyderabad to promote the Telugu version of the film, and Krish didn’t attend it. Kangana in her interviews said that she had no problem if Krish was not talking about the film.
