Hope to come up with rock album in year or two: Aditya Roy Kapur

Aditya expressed that the role he essays in 'Fitoor' taught him a lot about himself.

New Delhi: Actor Aditya Roy Kapoor is playing an artist in his upcoming film 'Fitoor' and is bitten by the creative bug so much so that he is planning to come up with a music album.

The 30-year-old actor, who played a musician in his super-hit film 'Aashiqui 2', said the album will be of rock genre.

"I like music. I play the guitar, I write songs. I hope, in a coming year or two I will cut an album and put it out there and I will make it happen. I don't think I will do the regular stuff. May be I will sing in films if I get a chance. But the album will be of rock genre. I grew up on rock bands Red Hot Chili Peppers, Led Zeppelin, Radiohead and Coldplay," Aditya told PTI.

The actor said he always loved music, but his interest in art developed after he started preparing for his role in the Abhishek Kapoor-directed film, based on Charles Dickens' celebrated novel 'Great Expectations'.

"I have started liking painting after 'Fitoor'. The role taught me a lot about myself, showed me a new world. I started appreciating art. I never realised what all goes into the making. But, now when I travel I go to the museums. I have developed interest in art," he added.

Apart from building his interest in art, the movie also made Aditya feel the passion and love which he says is rare to find in this age.

"There was passion everywhere on the set. It does not happen in every film. To feel the kind of love Noor had was a privilege. We don't see or feel that kind of love around us in this age. Fantastical love, where you don't get love in return. I haven't experienced it in real life. To rationalise it and live his life was a tough task," he said.

The movie is also Aditya's first outing with a chiselled physique and he worked hard for it, but the 'Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani' actor feels it is not important to have a "six pack" all the time.

"Too much went through getting a good physique. I was fresh out of 'Daawat-e-Ishq' and had gained weight. I had to lose 18 kgs in eight months. I went obsessed with it. But, I don't think one needs it for every role. I don't feel the need of having a six pack all the time," he said.

Produced by UTV Motion Pictures, 'Fitoor' also stars Katrina Kaif as Firdaus and Tabu as Begum Hazrat. Mainly shot in Kashmir and Delhi, the film will hit the
screens on February 12.
