The pandemic singers in Bollywood

With Tiger Shroff’s third single awaiting release, he joins the list of actors who are celebrating singing talent despite the pandemic

You cannot put a creative person down, no matter even a pandemic! While many Bollywood actors have been busy giving vent to their hobbies, Tiger Shroff has managed to come out with his third single Vande Mataram. The actor and singer would release Vande Mataram on 10 August, ahead of Independence Day.

Speaking about his single, Tiger says, “Just when I thought jumping from one building to another was tough, this has been the most challenging yet full-filling experience for me. I have the highest respect for musicians all across the globe and have so much to learn. This is the first time I have attempted to sing a song like Vande Mataram and I am excited and nervous at the same time. It is not just a song but an emotion that celebrates independent India.”

More actor singers

But he’s not the only one. Among other actors who have created singles during the pandemic year, Madhuri Dixit Nene had also released a single called Candle during the lockdown.

The actress had said, “The lockdown was a time when I really got time to be not just with family but also with myself and I perhaps felt that this was the right time for me to sing. I can actually sing and always had an inclination for singing since childhood. It is just another way of expressing myself and I would love to sing more in the future.”

Parineeti Chopra also had sung a song in one of her recent releases, The Girl on the Train which was released during the pandemic. Parineeti speaks about her singing stint. “I love singing and so do at whatever opportunity I get,” says the Meri Pyaari Bindu actress.

Playback the music

Another actor who’s turned a singer during the pandemic is Tara Sutaria, who recorded a song for Ek Villain Returns with Ankit Tiwari for director Mohit Suri. Incidentally, Mohit had also got Shraddha Kapoor to sing for Ek Villain and her songs Galliyan and Bezuban Phir Se were appreciated much more than when she sang for Rock On 2 in which she was paired opposite Farhan Akhtar.

“I am exploring the singing aspect and having too much fun doing so. I want to go with the flow. It was my childhood dream to sing and dance apart from acting. I hope this continues,” she says.

Additionally, while Shraddha’s colleague Alia Bhatt has sung songs from Samjhawan to Ikk Kudi and Humsafar, her co-actor in Aashiqui 2, Aditya Roy Kapur, will also be delving into music very soon and has even set up a music studio at home.
