Ishaan Khatter flaunts his versatility
Ishaan Khatter’s upcoming projects are a mix of both masala entertainer and gritty storylines. The actor, who chose a master like Majid Majidi to helm his debut international project Beyond The Clouds, has literally planned to reach beyond the skies.
While he chose a Bollywoodised remake of the Marathi box office juggernaut as his debut, he has picked Mira Nair’s Suitable Boy and the Ali Abbas Zafar produced Khaali Peeli as his next international and Bollywood projects respectively, and is now shooting for both projects simultaneously.
Khaali Peeli is an original screenplay and not a remake of Taxiwala as is being speculated in some segments of the media. The actor has already finished a schedule of the film. Next in line is A Suitable Boy, a six-part series for BBC One (UK) directed by Mira Nair with a never seen before ensemble cast.
Ishaan has some superb romantic scenes with Tabu in the film. He plays Maan Kapoor while Tabu plays the role of Saeeda Bai.
Interestingly, his characters in both these projects are completely different. However, after wrapping up the first schedule of Khaali Peeli, Ishaan turned into his character for A Suitable Boy within no time.
A source reveals, “Ishaan is a very passionate actor and he likes to give himself to his characters. He is on a two-month-long outdoor schedule for A Suitable Boy. He is going to finish it at one go. Once he is back in mid-December, he will again get the meter started for Khaali Peeli.”
