A salute for the maestro, Balasubrahmanyam
The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) is gearing to honour legendary playback singer S.P. Balasubrahmanyam, who passed away last year due to Covid-19 complications. Some of the most accomplished musicians of Melbourne — Anoop Divakaran, Lakshmy Ramaswamy, Kaushik Ganesh, and Malavika Harish from the band musikADa — will be performing live to salute the maestro at the iconic Fed Square on Aug 15.
Talking about the event, the festival’s director Mitu Bhowmick Lange says, “S.P. Balasubrahmanyam’s magical voice captivated listeners across the world as he captured every human emotion in his music with effortless grace. Our love and respect for him are beyond words, and we are honoured to pay tribute to the evergreen singer of Indian cinema music.”
