Varun Dhawan to star in action thriller helmed by \'Kesari\' director?
A flop of a much-anticipated commercial film can often put actors on a path of rethinking and reevaluating their films. So, after the failure of Street Dancer 3D, Varun Dhawan — whose Shashank Khaitan directorial for producer Karan Johar Mr Lele has been put onto the backburner — will now be working in another Sajid Nadiadwala production, this time in a film by Kesari director Anurag Singh.
Incidentally, Akshay Kumar had even greenlighted a film with Anurag which was based on a real-life story in the late 1980s. Interestingly, the film has been written by writer Aseem Arora who had in fact written the television series 21 Sarfarosh-Saragarhi 1897 starring Mohit Raina.
“Varun will first work in Sriram Raghavan’s film — the biopic on army man Arun Khetarpal — and then he will start Anurag’s film, which is slated to be an action thriller. None of the other star cast has been confirmed,” say sources.
Varun’s next film on the silver screen will be the David Dhawan-directed Coolie No 1.
