Ranveer Singh-Deepika Padukone in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next?

After the success of Bajirao Mastani, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali may come back together for Bhansali’s next.

It is a film based on the life of queen Padmavati of Chittor who performed ‘jauhar’ (self-immolation of queens and female royals of Rajput kingdoms when faced with defeat at the hands of an enemy) when the ruthless Alauddin Khilji attacked her kingdom, wanting to keep her in his harem.

According to sources, the director has already shared the script with the two actors, as he had them in mind for the role since day one. This will be their third outing as a team, the first two being Ram-Leela and Bajirao Mastani.

A source said, “Deepika and Ranveer are both excited about the film. They are both busy with their individual projects at the moment, but will see Bhansali soon to take the idea forward. Until then, the director will finish working on the script and the pre-production formalities.”

The actors and the director remained unavailable for comment.
