Buoyed by succes, makers plan VDW sequel, but here's why it won't start soon

Veere Di Wedding released less than two weeks ago, and if you enjoyed it, you can look forward to seeing the four Veeres — Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania — together on screen again.

Rumour has it that a sequel to the film is already being planned. A source close to the development reveals, “All the women involved with the film, from the producers Ekta Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor to the leading ladies, want to know what happens to the four protagonists after the film ends. So yes, a sequel is definitely on the cards.”

The only problem is that the four actresses are busy women, and coordinating their availability is a task.

“We would start immediately, but Kareena doesn’t want to do another film now. She wants to concentrate on her son. Sonam is busy with Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, and the Zoya Factor after that. Swara is tied up as well. So we’ll have to wait until next year. But we are definitely coming back,” the source says.
