Sanjay Kapoor who has been in the wilderness for a while is getting back into the big league now. The actor who began his career with films like Prem and Beta could not match up to his illustrious actor brother Anil Kapoor. But he made a comeback recently with films like Mubarakan where he played Arjun Kapoor’s father and will also be seen in Sonam Kapoor’s father in The Zoya Factor.
Barring playing dad to his nephew and niece, Sanjay whose work in Lust Stories was appreciated a lot, has signed on R Balki’s film production Mission Mangal where he plays an important role opposite Vidya Balan.
“Sanjay has a very pivotal character in the film and he has been added to the cast of the film which already includes Akshay Kumar, Sharman Joshi, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu and Kriti Kulhari.
Meanwhile, Sanjay also shot for the Kannada film Seetharama Kalyana directed by Harsha. “Harsha had seen some of my recent work and liked it. He approached me for an interesting role in Seetharama Kalyana and I thought why not, it opens up new avenues for me because I’ve never done any regional film,” says Sanjay.
