Sonchiriya my best till date, says Sushant Singh Rajput
Sushant Singh Rajput who will play a dacoit in Abhishek Chaubey’s Sonchiriya says this is by far his best performance to date. “We have some brilliant actors in this film and it was the most challenging role of my life. It wasn’t easy to get the dialect right and the location Chambal isn’t an easy place to survive. So it hasn’t been an easy journey,” the actor chuckles, adding, “Of all the characters that I have done in the past, this one is the most challenging. I think this is my best performance till now.” Set in the Chambal valley, the dacoit drama also features actors Manoj Bajpayee, Ranvir Shorey and Ashutosh Rana. Pose the query of what made him take up a film like this, he says, “The story is the most important thing. It has to both make sense to me and also entertain. Once I read the script I resonated with it.”
Continuing, he says, “This is a film that will keep the audience engaged. I like to take slightly more challenging scripts.”
