Nimrat Kaur bagged TV role over a Skype call

Nimrat will play the role of an architect, who is married to the main lead, Jason Patric.

Nimrat Kaur, who previously played the role of a Pakistani ISI agent in American show Homeland, is currently filming for the American television series, Wayward Pines. Nimrat landed the role over a Skype call since she was busy prepping for her younger sister’s wedding, right after she finished promoting Airlift.

Talking to us from Vancouver, she said, “I was the last person in the family to go for my sister’s wedding because I was busy with the promotions of Airlift. My manager kept calling me to read the script but I couldn’t manage doing it when I was in the midst of the wedding. I read like two pages in a salon, two in the car and some while the mehendi function was on. I couldn’t have given a screen test because it was madness but I somehow managed to have a Skype call with them. And within two-three days we heard back from them too. Before I knew it, I was here for the shoot. So it was all like a whirlwind.”

Nimrat will play the role of an architect, who is married to the main lead, Jason Patric. She says, “My role is a mysterious character of Rebecca. It’s a futuristic show. I play an architect who is married to the main lead. She is someone who is just living the life and eventually makes some very different and difficult choices. There will be ten episodes and it will on air from May this year,” she added.
Nimrat is also considering a project back home and she says, “Yes there is a project on hold and I am hoping I get to do it. Will have to check my availability and dates.”

Nimrat celebrated her birthday yesterday and was in the midst of moving between houses. She says, “This year, on my birthday I will be in a new house, on a new job in a new city with some lovely new friends that I have made here. I don’t think I would have liked this city this way, had it not been for the new friends I have made here and the way they have been taking care of me.”
