Salman Khan may have cemented his position at the box office with his larger-than-life roles, but there are still takers for the innocent Prem, as was proven by the success of Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo.
The man who created Prem, Sooraj Barjatya, managed to project a more homely image of Salman Khan who has always been referred to as a “brat”.
We hear that the two are very likely to team up once again and discussions have already begun on that front, even though nothing is official yet.
A source said, “Sooraj can get Salman’s dates anytime he wants. He is someone who is very close to the Khan family. Even Salman has a lot of respect for him and knows how Barjatya’s films have helped his career.
When they were meeting at Salman’s house in Bandra and Sooraj proposed the title Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo, Salman immediately agreed. If some other director would have suggested, Salman would not have been as accepting.”
The actor’s dates are locked till the end of this year and if at all the two finalise a subject, it won’t start anytime soon.
The source added, “Salman likes to have long discussions with his director. He has advised Sooraj to move on from the family drama genre. He knows that the director has mastered the genre, but Salman feels it doesn’t excite the audience anymore. Prem Ratan…, even though it was a hit, it still wasn’t a film that was loved by everyone. So Salman gave his share of advice to Sooraj. Now let’s see what the director comes up with.”
Right now his hands are tied with Sultan that releases on Id later this year.
