The stunning recently-released posters of Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi in Sriram Raghavan’s pan-India film Merry Christmas have intensified fans’ anticipation of seeing the two stars share a screen for the first time. Katrina answers a few questions about the film.
“The film is an intense thriller. It’s a big-screen film. Such films take a lot from you, but the reward is great too,” says Katrina. On working with Vijay Sethupathi, she says, “He is a phenomenal talent and working with him was great. He brings in a lot of ease. He does it effortlessly. It’s a film both of us are very passionate about.
Merry Christmas is tipped to be bilingual (Hindi and Tamil). And on having to speak in Tamil, Katrina says, “Since it is a bilingual you can imagine the challenges for me. I speak in Tamil. Obviously, it’s not my language, but all the lines are said by me, the full scenes are performed by me.”
The Phone Bhoot actress describes the director Sriram Raghavan as one of her favourite directors. “Working with him was on the top of my bucket list. I feel very blessed.”
On where work stands on the priorities list post marriage to Vicky Kaushal, the actress explains, “We got married and went into work mode. He left for shooting in Indore. I was shooting for this film. Parting was tough for me, kyunki abhi abhi toh shaadi hui hai na? I was in a honeymoon mood, and wanted to spend time with him. We had thought of taking a month off. But we were committed to work.”
