Being a risk-taker, it came as no surprise when Ekta Kapoor put her money on Udta Punjab. However, the producer also knows that caution comes with risks and is not taking matters lightly.
As certain factions have been making a hue and cry about the film’s content, the police had stationed units outside a few multiplexes.
However, an insider from Ekta’s camp now reveals that the producer too is playing it safe and has been given police protection. The source reveals, “Ever since the film released, police officers have been deployed outside her (Ekta) office, to tackle threats arising from uncalled protests and threats. This is just to ensure the safety of Ekta Kapoor and other employees in the building. There was a huge outrage over the content of the film and all this was done to avoid any unforeseen incident at her office.”
