I Also Felt: SRK on Nayanthara's screen time in Jawan
Shah Rukh Khan and Nayanthara teamed up for the first time in 'Jawan', and their chemistry was adored by fans. However, some viewers felt that Nayanthara's character lacked depth in the film.
Reports even suggested that Nayanthara was unhappy about her role being overshadowed by Deepika Padukone's extended cameo. While Nayanthara had not commented on this issue, SRK finally addressed it during an 'Ask SRK' session on X (formerly Twitter).
During the session, a fan shared a photo of SRK with the child actor who portrayed Suji in the film and praised the subtle portrayal of the single mom storyline, saying, "I loved Azad’s bond with Suji, the single mom storyline was so subtly done and really refreshing. Thank you for representing women from all walks of life. Love you Shah @iamsrk #AskSRK #Jawan (sic)."
In response, SRK acknowledged the importance of Narmada's character as a single mom, saying, "I also felt that the story of Narmada as a single mom was amazing. Unfortunately, in the scheme of things, couldn't find more screen time, but as it was also wonderful. #Jawan (sic)."
While Nayanthara made her Bollywood debut with 'Jawan', rumors circulated that she was disappointed with director Atlee for significantly reducing her role in the film, causing her character to be sidelined. However, Nayanthara has not officially commented on this matter yet.
