'I couldn't have asked for more': Parvathy on making Bollywood debut opposite Irrfan
Actress Parvathy, who is making her foray into Bollywood with Irrfan Khan in Qarib Qarib Singlle, is known to speak her mind. She reveals that she has had no publicist in her career so far. She says, “I have done without PRs and I managed pretty well. I need to hit a particular spot in my career, and then if I feel like I need a PR team, I will hire one. I have managed without one for 11 years and have not had any trouble,”
The actress, who openly spoke about the casting couch in the film industry, also accepts that she is quite used to not getting offers in films. She says, “I don’t try too hard; I just wait for the right film to come. I have two Malayalam films lined up. I have never been able to make a distinction between films, because the effort I have to put in remains the same. I have been here for 11 years but I’m still in no hurry.”
Talking about her Bollywood movie, she smiles, “When I was told Irrfan is playing the role of Yogi I couldn’t have asked for more. He gives you the space to improvise. Half your work is done because you are busy reacting to his scenes so it flows beautifully and you don’t have to scramble in the dark to find the right reaction. More than a global icon, he is just a brilliant actor committed to his craft.”
