Watch: Deepika is all poise and grace in Padmavati's first song, Ghoomar
Mumbai: Trust Sanjay Leela Bhansali to present Deepika Padukone in the most graceful and pristine of ways!
The actress, who plays the eponymous Rani Padmavati, in SLB's upcoming directorial, is the personification of grace and poise in the film's very first song, 'Ghoomar'. The song, with a traditional Rajasthani folk groove, might remind one of earlier compositions in similar vein, like Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy's 'Bhaanwre' from 'Luck By Chance,' but is a superlative composition in itself.
Composed by SLB himself, the song has Deepika grooving with near perfect limb synchronisation, all whilst maintaining the unmistakable demeanour of a Rajput queen.
Shahid Kapoor, who plays Rana Rawal Ratan Singh in the movie, also makes a brief appearance, looking a regal as possible. The film, which stars Ranveer Singh as the antagonistic Alauddin Khilji, had created a riot on the internet with the release of its trailer.
Also starring Jim Sarbh and Aditi Rao Hydari, the film is slated for a December 01 release.
