'My fame has come under the evil eye': Mahira upset as Raees fails to release in Pak
Islamabad: Pakistani actress Mahira Khan has expressed morose that her Bollywood debut 'Raees' could not release in Pakistan.
She said that her Pakistani fans were also upset by the situation. Mahira Khan said that 'Raees' had gained recognition around the world including India.
“I am the first Pakistani actress who got the opportunity to work with Shah Rukh Khan as the main lead. But I feel that my success and fame has come under the evil eye due to which my film has not been able to release in Pakistan,” she added.
However, Mahira Khan says that she was not disappointed as according to reports Indian films will be permitted to screen in the cinemas.
“It is a good sign that the exhibition of Bollywood films is being reopened in the country,” said the actress.
Mahira Khan said that Bollywood is a big industry in which it is not an ordinary task to prove your mettle whereas if any Pakistani artist achieves success in Bollywood he makes his country proud in that industry.
To a question she said: “Pakistani films are my priority however; I had never compromise on the role. I will work in films based on quality productions and significant characters.”
