Babumoshai Bandookbaaz finds no female lead after Chitrangada Singh walks out
After Chitrangada Singh walked out of the film Babumoshai Bandookbaaz, the makers of the film have been left in a lurch. No other actress has come on board since Chitrangada’s exit. According to the actress, director Kushan Nandy wanted her to re-shoot intimate scenes of the film and used foul language while urging her to do the same and thus prompted her to abandon the project. The director and actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui however, have denied of any such thing having transpired on the sets.
Ever since Chitrangada’s walkout, the makers have approached other actresses such as Aditi Rao Hydari, Swara Bhaskar and Richa Chaddha to name a few — all of whom turned it down.
While Aditi’s dates were blocked for one of Maniratnam’s projects, Richa’s spokesperson confirmed, “Richa was offered the film but she is not taking it up.”
Surveen Chawla was the last to be approached, but she hasn’t agreed yet. A source confirmed, “Yes, no female actor is on board yet, but the shoot begins in Lucknow today.”
