Actress Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover set the temperatures soaring with their new condom ad and while many feel that it has been shot aesthetically, the trolls thought otherwise.
One troll commented, “Don’t make porn in the name of advertising. We understand that you are not getting work but still.” Yet another said, “#playguardcondoms are you people spreading awareness of protected sex in our country or making a mini porn trailer? #Should’nt be Advertised.”
However, when we got in touch with Bipasha Basu, she brushed off the comments, saying, “Well, for everything in life today, you have trolls and negative comments. We should concern ourselves with what we want to achieve and only be concerned with people who understand that.”
The actress also reveals that she knew exactly what she was getting into when she signed up for the ad.
“Yes, we were very clear about our representation in the ad. Also what it would communicate…love between two lovers...and playfulness. And we had a wonderful team of people behind the print and ad film. The aesthetics are perfect. We have received a lot of compliments,” says Bipasha. The actress further adds, “When we got the offer together, it seemed like the right choice as together we could create awareness that condoms should be used for protected sex in order to curb HIV and STDs. Also for having planned pregnancies. Since it was going to be a very sexy campaign with the two of us...we gave a nod.”
