Wish I was there to dance!'
On the 31st anniversary of his Bollywood debut film, Deewana, Shah Rukh Khan was at his expansive best as he interacted with his fans on @iamsrk on Sunday evening.
When asked about the song Chaiyya Chaiyya that was sung to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the White House, he said, “Wish I was there to dance to it ... but they wouldn’t allow a train inside I guess??!!!” “Wow, just realised it’s 31 years to the day when Deewana hit the screens,” SRK began the conversation.
“It’s been a wild ride, but mostly a good one.” When asked what “one thing as an actor you’ve been following in the last 31 years,” he revealed his acting style. “I write a whole backstory and ideology of the character. Sometimes, I share it with the director or just keep it to myself. It could be a poem or a whole story,” he said. As usual, Shah Rukh Khan provided witty responses during his interaction with fans. Among other things, he discussed how, at the age of 57, he still nails stunts and action sequences.
In his most recent film Pathaan, the actor was seen performing action scenes and stunts. The fan asked, “Sir 57 ki age me itne sare action stunt karne ke raaz (What’s the secret to doing all the action and stunts at 57)?”
In response, the actor tweeted, “Bahut painkillers khaane padhte hain bhai (I had to take a lot of painkillers, brother).” On a more personal note, when asked about his favourite toy, he replied, “My lil AbRam.”
When asked to share his thoughts on the Internet, which was not available when he made his Bollywood debut 31 years ago, SRK expressed a sentiment shared by many: “Too many people with too many views... has become more difficult to find your voice in the white noise!”
He also poked fun at the film industry’s Know-It-Alls, saying, “Back in my day, we didn’t discuss the business of films without knowing anything about the business!!!.”
