This is all a dream come true: Sunny Leone

Sunny Leone talks about being flooded with offers in Bollywood and getting a chance to sing the National Anthem on stage.

It has been four years since Sunny Leone was first launched in Bollywood by Mahesh Bhatt in Jism 2 and there has been no looking back for the actress ever since. She has maintained a firm grip over B-town and continues to be flooded with offers for films and dance numbers. With a chance to shake a leg with Shah Rukh Khan and the opportunity to sing the Indian National Anthem on stage, this year has already been a good one for Sunny.

However, even with all the opportunities, not everything has been smooth for the actress. While she confesses that singing the National Anthem was ‘the proudest moment of her career’, it also landed her in legal trouble after a filmmaker sued her for the same. Not one to back down, Sunny seems to be taking things in her stride.

Speaking about the moment, she says, “It was a very proud moment for my team and me. This is a reminder that no matter how many haters there are, the good folks are many more. I love India for everything it has offered me.”

Another big development in her career has been the chance to work with SRK. Sunny says, “It was an amazing experience. Shah Rukh Khan is one of the nicest people I’ve met. I’m so thankful and honoured that he asked me to be a part of a song in Raees.”

While the actress’ on-screen persona oozes oomph, Sunny gives us a glimpse into her life away from work and says, “When I am not working, I attend my Hindi classes. I workout, study and do my Hindi homework. If I’m not exhausted, I like to go have a nice glass of wine and dinner.”

As for her work, Sunny says the only thing she wants to do is continually experiment. “If different types of films are offered to me then I definitely want to try them out. This is all a dream come true for me. I live for today and I want to accomplish everything because you never know when it might end.”

The actress further tells us how she is experimental by nature and says, “When the camera turns on, I actually don’t care about anything else but what I need to do. And as each movie passes I learn more about myself, and how far I can push myself,” she adds.

While she has been picky about her scripts, choosing only ones that really interest her, there is still the perception that she is cast primarily for her looks. Commenting on this, Sunny says, “We all get cast for our appearance — that’s one reason why we love watching movies.”

Apart from her work, the one thing Sunny has been notorious for is her ability to get along well with everyone. About friends in the industry, she says, “I’ve recently met a few people who have been very nice to me and among actresses too, I have really met a lot of nice ones. They have always been nice to me.” While she’s busy with Bollywood commitments, the actress also has other plans for her career. “I have my perfume line, Lust by Sunny Leone, an app called Teen Patti, Splitsvilla, and I also want to explore more in merchandising.”
