When Kangana Ranaut was named as a recipient of the prestigious Padma Shri award on January 26, one of the first to congratulate her from the entertainment industry was Alia Bhatt — yes, the same Alia whose performance in Gully Boy Kangana had publicly ridiculed.
Alia sent flowers and a note to Kangana.
But this is how Kangana’s sister Rangoli reacted to the gesture: ‘Yeh dekho, Alia ji ne bhi Kangana ko phool bheje hain, Kangana ka pata nahin magar mujhe bahut maza aa raha hai.’ (Look, even Alia has sent Kangana flowers. I don’t know about Kangana, but I’m enjoying this!)
Speaking exclusively to me, Alia said, “Let them react the way they want to. I am happy for Kangana.”
Earlier too, Alia had been generous towards Kangana. When I spoke to her after Kangana’s outburst against her, she said to me, “Let’s not respond to her. Let her talk. It’s better for me to keep quiet. Maybe she will like me in my next film, or my next.”
