While Hollywood film Aquaman has already taken the place vacated by Ajay Devgn-Anil Kapoor-Madhuri Dixit-Nene starrer Total Dhamaal after it was postponed owing to increase in VFX, there are now a couple of other films eyeing that date.
“A December 7 release means that the films will have a clear two week run at the box office as the next big film Zero is only on December 21. While Hollywood producer Rob Cowan backed Aquaman has already taken up that slot, other movies are also looking to get a free run at the turnstiles. A couple of filmmakers are enquiring with distributors whether it will be a good idea to try and pre-pone or postpone their releases to use the date as it would mean a lot more screens for them,” says a distributor.
The coming week is expected to witness a few changes in the announcements of film releases as everyone wants to block that date after the Total Dhamaal’s evacuation.
