B-town production house T Series ventured into the star-studded bandwagon with mythological film ‘Adipurush’ featuring Prabhas but it didn’t live up to high expectations. Unwilling to take any chances with their next big star film ‘Animal’ starring Ranbir Kapoor, Bushan Kumar urged Telugu filmmaker Sandeep Vanga to reshoot the film and deferred the release by six months. “Adipurush didn't fare well as expected, so they didn’t mind deferring the release of 'Animal' by a few months. They urged the director to reshoot key portions and important scenes to make it more viewer-friendly since they didn’t want to take any chances this time,” says a source from Mumbai.
Actually, T Series is adept in dishing out musical love stories like ‘Aashiqui2’ and ‘Shehzada’ but they were doing a Rs 300 crore budget film ‘Adipurush’ to join elite production houses who dish out star-centric films. “They recently tasted massive success with ‘Bhool Bhulaiya 2’ and can judge breezy romances with ease,” he adds.
Nonetheless, Ranbir Kapoor's riveting performance in Animal’s teaser has triggered a lot of buzz around the film since Ranbir is known for his cute lover boy roles in films like ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ and ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani' to earn a huge female fan following. “Ranbir will be seen in a new avatar in this high-octane action film and he will rock the viewers,” he concludes.
