Actor Ayushmann Khurrana, who is also a soul-stirring singer, enthralled the audience at the closing ceremony of the 54th IFFI at Goa. He paid tribute to Michael Douglas, the recipient of the Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award, with his performance. We caught up with him for a chat.
You’re a regular face at the IFFI, isn’t it?
Yes, this is back-to-back; overall it’s the fourth time I am attending this festival. It’s the most credible film festival in our country. All the films and shows that were chosen are credible creations. So it feels good to be part of this film festival.
Tell us about the importance of this festival.
As an actor, you meet many creative people here. Normally we are all very busy shooting on a regular basis, so we don’t get chance to meet such brilliant creative people. Here we get a wonderful opportunity to meet people from different places.
Were any of your films shown here at this festival?
This year none of my films could be part of this festival. I had only one release, Dream Girl 2. But I have a singing and dancing collaboration with Micheal Douglas, this is a huge opportunity for me.

There are a few projects which are yet to be announced. I’ll update you later.
