I'm here to absorb and learn
Ahead of his eagerly-awaited film Jawan, Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan made a dramatic appearance at the film’s pre-release event in Chennai on Wednesday.
Exuding effortless charisma, Khan, wearing a white T-shirt, black jacket and jeans, complemented by chic sunglasses, SRK made his entrance.
Having ruled Bollywood for three decades, SRK is now setting his sights on Tamil cinema. Professing his love for the talents in the region, he said, “I had the fortune of making friends with Mani Ratnam and Santhosh Sivan during Dil Se. Subsequently, I worked with Kamal Haasan Sir in Hey Ram, where I had the privilege of dubbing my own lines in Tamil. I have also enjoyed a close friendship with the great Rajinikanth Sir, who had a cameo in Ra One. Observing them has fuelled my desire to learn from the Tamil industry.”
After being inspired by Atlee’s film Raja Rani, Khan and the director quickly found common ground. “I have established numerous friendships in the past three years, especially while working on Jawan. I have come to absorb, learn and then share what I have gathered with the Tamil audience,” he elaborated.
