Annu Kapoor, well known for his roles in movies like Vicky Donor, Dream Girl and Dream Girl 2 requested police protection after receiving death threats following the release of the film's teaser. The teaser has ignited a heated debate and controversy. In response to this Annu Kapoor posted a video on social media asking for police protection.


In the video which has been widely circulated online Annu Kapoor states, "The film supports women's empowerment and discusses their rights. Watch the film first before forming an opinion. While everyone has the right to express themselves on social media they should not resort to abuse or death threats. We will not be intimidated by such actions."

He further explains, "We made this film to highlight women's empowerment and address the issue of overpopulation. Our intention is not to offend any caste or community."

Despite its good intentions the teaser has upset many viewers resulting in threats against the film’s team. Directed by Kamal Chandra and produced by Birender Bhagat, Ravi S. Gupta, Sanjay Nagpal and Sheo Balak Singh with Triloki Nath Prasad as co-producer, the film's story is written by Rajan Agarwal. Ajendra Ajay serves as the creative director. Initially the film was titled Hum Do Hamare Baarah but the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) later changed it to Hamare Baarah.
