Urofi Javed has attracted innumerable eyeballs since the pandemic with her bold and unique fashion choices, making statements with dresses of her own design. Now, her unscripted debut show on Prime Video, Follow Kar Lo Yaar, offers glimpses of her everyday life and her journey towards becoming India’s Kim Kardashian. It provides audiences with insights into her aspirations.
Excerpts from a chat.
“I’m not an inspiration to anyone. I’m doing it for myself. But if people get inspired watching, Follow Kar Lo Yaar, then it’s okay”, she says matter of factly. Discussing her offbeat fashion statements, Urofi said, “My persistence in coming out with different styles has left an impression on the minds of the people. Your work gets recognition and people like it.”

Denying that she represents the modern girl, Urofi said, “I am being myself. It’s important to be yourself. You should simply represent who you are in real life.”

“I really hope I can do some amazing work. Mujhe Shahrukh Khan banna hai. I don't know whether there can be another Shahrukh. I’m nowhere close to him. But I want to become as famous as SRK.” She added, “I feel my journey has just started. Until now, it was merely a trailer...the journey is yet to begin.” Talking about not having a godfather in the industry, Urofi said, “there have been people who have stood by my side. My team and my family have always supported me.”

Urofi goes by the principle that ‘Change is the spice of life.’ She said, “Life is always changing. You discover yourself every day in accordance to the environment and situation. It is thus very important to adapt to the environment and situation and keep changing accordingly.
