Mumbai: Actor Jay Thakkar, who started his career as a child artist in 2004 with well-known shows like Gutur Gu – India's first silent comedy show, Lagi Tujhse Lagan, Uttaran, and is best known for his work in Sony TV's Ek Dujey Ke Vaaste 2, Jio Cinema's UP65, Amazon Prime's Laakhon Mein Ek, Ram Setu, and Dream Girl movies, set to feature in Shreyas Talpade and Tusshar Kapoor starrer Kapkapiii, an upcoming horror comedy directed by late Sangeeth Sivan.

Talking about how he feels working with Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, and director Sangeeth Sivan, Jay Thakkar said, "I feel absolutely blessed and grateful for the opportunity to play one of the primary leads alongside Shreyas Talpade sir and Tusshar Kapoor sir in our upcoming horror comedy movie Kapkapiii. The first day of shooting started with my scene alongside Shreyas Talpade sir, and even Tusshar sir's first scene was shot with me, which makes me feel really special and lucky. Our producer, Mr. Jayesh Patel sir, informed me that after a series of long auditions & amongst the 300 guys who auditioned for my part, I was the first actor to be finalized from the cast of this film as they loved all my takes when they saw it."

Sharing how he feels about the release of the film without Sangeeth Sivan, Jay Thakkar said, "I had the best two months of my life shooting with Sangeeth Sivan sir. We made many fun memories, celebrated birthdays, and enjoyed different cuisines. He was one of the sweetest directors I’ve worked with. Rather than mourn his absence, I believe he would want us to cherish those memories. He is still with us in spirit, watching from above. We miss him, but it's our responsibility to make this movie a grand success with all our hearts, efforts, and minds."

Talking about his character and the release of the Kapkapiii motion poster, he shared, "My character poster shows an expressive, quirky, and funky young guy in traditional attire. I play a chaiwala who is the youngest of all, but his thoughts and ideologies are futuristic and ambitious. He dreams of doing something revolutionary but is often teased by his friends for idealism. He is clever, notorious, playful, and polite, and dreams of ruling the nation one day as Prime Minister. The subtle Gujarati accent, comic timing, and dialogue delivery will surely excite the audience and make them laugh."

Talking about the learnings he gained from Tusshar and Shreyas, he said, "Shreyas Talpade sir once recorded my audition and gave me cues for an upcoming project, which helped me bag another role. I admired his humility and the impact of his dialogue delivery. Tusshar Kapoor sir was very supportive and let me improvise our scenes together, adding his humor. Working with such experienced personalities and a skilled crew helped me hone my skills as an actor and grow as a more creative person."

Talking about the atmosphere on our set, he adds, “It was very calm, positive, but at the same time energetic, creative & one of the best things that happened with me is that my birthday was celebrated on the set with the entire crew after my shoot got over post packup with disco lights, music & I was immensely surprised with 4 cakes, Dhokla, Khaandvi, and so many other Gujarati Farsaan that were ordered by the production & crew, which made me feel very fortunate & emotional.
