Nawazuddin Siddiqui calls himself the ugliest looking actor

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is one of the best actors in the Indian film industry and has made a huge impression through his roles in movies like The Lunchbox, Gangs of Wasseypur, Kahaani and Sacred Games. However, despite his accomplishments, the actor has suffered great discrimination in the film line because of his appearance. He discussed this situation with News18 recently and expressed how it affected him personally as well as professionally.

Nawazuddin on his appearance

In an interview he had yesterday, Nawazuddin opened up about criticisms that were leveled against him due to his looks. “I don’t know why some people hate us due to our faces. This is because our faces look ugly – we think so when we see ourselves in front of the mirror too– I also ask myself why I brought such an ugly face into the film industry,” he said.

Taking criticism

“I’m physically probably the ugliest actor among everyone who works there on movies”, admitted Nawazuddin. Main toh yeh maanta hoon. Kyun ki main shuru se yeh sab sunte aa raha hoon aur abhi maanne bhi laga hoon.” (I have been hearing it for so long that I’ve started to believe it. I have no complaints about the film industry). Despite all these negative words spoken by others about her appearance, she admits that she cannot complain since they created more roles for her varied roles during her acting career.

Recent projects

Haddi was recently released on the Zee5 OTT platform with Nawazuddin Siddique being part of its cast while Raatu Ka Raaj will be available from June 28 also on Zee5. The movie is directed by Anand Surapur and stars Atul Tiwari, Rajesh Kumar and Narayani Shastri among others.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is a living example of his dedication and talent towards his film career despite the discrimination that he has faced based on his looks. Although many people have been discriminating against him because of his appearance, he has made a niche for himself in the industry through these movies which can be watched anytime on various platforms like Netflix or Amazon Prime. By being open about the difficulties he went through, this actor demonstrates why the industry needs more tolerance and diversity.
